Mexican Tacos Recipe for 4 People

Ingredients:

  • 500g (1.1 lbs) beef, chicken, or pork, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 small tortillas (corn or flour)
  • Toppings: shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, grated cheese, salsa, sour cream, guacamole, lime wedges, etc.

Instructions:

  1. Cook the Meat:

    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the thinly sliced meat and cook until browned and cooked through.
  2. Add Aromatics and Spices:

    • Stir in chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook until softened.
    • Add thinly sliced bell pepper and cook until tender.
    • Season with ground cumin, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir well to combine.
  3. Warm Tortillas:

    • Heat the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until warm and soft.
  4. Assemble Tacos:

    • Spoon the cooked meat mixture onto the warm tortillas.
    • Add your favorite toppings such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, grated cheese, salsa, sour cream, and guacamole.
  5. Serve:

    • Serve the tacos immediately with lime wedges on the side.

Optional:

  • You can also grill the tortillas for extra flavor and texture.
  • Experiment with different meats or vegetarian fillings such as beans or roasted vegetables.
