Egyptian Taameya Recipe for 4 People
Ingredients:
- 1 cup dried fava beans, soaked overnight
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions:
- Prepare the Fava Beans:
- Rinse the soaked fava beans under cold water and drain well.
- In a food processor, pulse the fava beans until coarsely ground.
- Mix Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine the ground fava beans with chopped onion, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped cilantro, ground cumin, ground coriander, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine.
- Form Patties:
- Take a small portion of the mixture and shape it into a small patty or ball. Repeat with the remaining mixture.
- Fry the Taameya:
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.

- Drain and Serve:
