Canadian Meatloaf Recipe for 4 People
Ingredients:
- 500g (1.1 lbs) ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 carrot, grated
- 1 celery stalk, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 egg, beaten
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish (optional)
For Glaze:
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Mix Ingredients:
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, chopped celery, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
- Shape the Meatloaf:
- Transfer the mixture to a greased loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Make Glaze:
- In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to make the glaze.
- Glaze and Bake:
- Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
