Argentinian Provoleta Recipe for 4 People

Ingredients:

  • 400g Provolone cheese, sliced (1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
  • Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Grill:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Prepare Provoleta:
    • Place the sliced Provolone cheese on a cast iron skillet or a heatproof dish.
  3. Seasoning:
    • In a small bowl, mix together olive oil, minced garlic, dried oregano, red pepper flakes, paprika, and a pinch of salt.
  4. Drizzle and Season:
    • Drizzle the seasoned oil mixture over the Provolone cheese slices, ensuring they are evenly coated.
  5. Grill:
    • Place the skillet or dish on the preheated grill and close the lid.
    • Grill for 5-7 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges start to brown.
  6. Serve:
    • Carefully remove the skillet or dish from the grill using oven mitts.
    • Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
    • Serve the Provoleta immediately with crusty bread for dipping.
