Grilled Sardines Recipe for 4 People
Ingredients:
- 12 fresh sardines, cleaned and gutted
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 lemon, sliced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare the Sardines:
- Rinse the sardines under cold water and pat them dry with paper towels.
- Using a sharp knife, make several diagonal cuts on each side of the sardines to help them cook evenly.
- Marinate the Sardines:
- In a bowl, mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Rub the marinade all over the sardines, making sure they are well coated.
- Place a slice of lemon inside each sardine cavity.
- Preheat the Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat, around 375-400°F (190-200°C).
- Grill the Sardines:
- Place the marinated sardines directly on the grill grate, ensuring they are not too crowded.
- Grill the sardines for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and slightly charred.
- Be careful not to overcook the sardines, as they can become dry.
- Serve:
- Once the sardines are cooked, transfer them to a serving platter.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and additional lemon slices if desired.
- Serve the grilled sardines hot, accompanied by your favorite side dishes such as crusty bread, grilled vegetables, or a fresh salad.
